Cone
8 Potters Club, formed in 1990, operates from rented
premises on the outskirts of Charlestown, Fife, providing
facilities for both experienced and novice amateur potters.
Comprehensive facilities are
available to members for throwing, slab building, glazing, decorating,
and firing ware in an electric kiln, mainly to stoneware
temperatures - hence the club name 'Cone 8'.
Novice potters can receive
instruction and join members in holding community events and
organising exhibitions of work locally. At any one time the
Club has around a dozen members.
